Well, at least this is a form of Flock abuse we hadn’t heard of before.
On October 10, 2025, Appen Media reported that a police officer in Sandy Springs, Georgia, had resigned after a whistleblower said that he had used Flock data to try to help a potential Flock competitor improve their software (archive link).
On October 30, WSB-TV reported that the officer had been terminated (archive link).
The whistleblower is a former employee of the competitor. Although the competitor says they didn’t receive any Flock data from this police officer, the whistleblower reported that they had been using Flock data to test and improve their product.
The Appen Media article also noted that the officer used Flock to search for personal plates belonging to a coworker.
